In an effort to not only educate the Hofstra community on sexual assault but also provide resources to survivors, Student Government Association along with CFC, SASS, It’s On US and other organizations on campus have developed programming and events dedicated to Sexual Assault Awareness. Students and faculty involved push to open a dialogue on sexual assault and rape culture. Our focus is not just awareness of how much sexual assault affects our world, our campus and our lives. We hope to beyond that reach survivors on campus that may be struggling in silence; to make them feel seen and heard and recognized. The most important thing we hope to get across throughout Sexual Assault Awareness Month is: you are not alone.
